Job Description: 
The School of Counseling at University of the Cumberlands seeks a counselor educator to join our faculty as an assistant, associate or full professor. Primary responsibilities will include teaching three counseling courses each semester (fall, spring and summer) in the areas of clinical mental health, addiction treatment and counselor education and supervision. While this position serves both masters and doctoral students, their primary responsibility will be to doctoral students and bringing research experience and expertise to the department. Faculty members are expected to participate in shared faculty governance, curriculum development, recruitment, student advisement, dissertation committees, scholarly research, and professional service activities. The School of Counseling hires and respects a diverse faculty.
Job Requirements: 

Job Qualifications:

  1. Earned doctorate (by time of appointment) in Counselor Education. Each faculty member must serve as CACREP core faculty.

  2. Licensed as a Professional Counselor, or eligible

  3. Record of professional and scholarly productivity

  4. Effective oral and written communication skills

  5. Experience using a variety of instructional technology and delivery methods


Desired Qualifications:

  1. Knowledgeable of CACREP-accredited counseling programs

  2. Experience teaching graduate level CACREP core areas as well as specialized courses in clinical mental health and career development

  3. Successful teaching experience at the graduate level

  4. Record of professional and scholarly productivity

  5. Involvement in state, regional, or national counseling associations

  6. Work experience in clinical mental health and/or addiction treatment

  7. Experience in clinical supervision
